Ryan Miller was born on 17th July 1980. He is an American ice hockey goaltender and is currently playing for the Buffalo Sabres of the National Hockey League NHL. He was selected to play for the US hockey team in the 2010 Winter Olympic Games ice hockey game in Vancouver Canada in the position of starting goaltender. Ryan Miller won a silver medal with the team and was named most valuable player of the tournament. He would win the Vezina Trophy as the best goaltender in the last NHL season. Ryan Miller is known for his hybrid style of goaltending and is also the older brother of current Detroit Red Wings winger Drew Miller. Mark Von Holden After the 2006 season, Miller became a restricted free agent and waived his right to arbitration. Mike Liut, Miller agent, continued to negotiate with the Sabres through the summer. On 8th Sept 2006 the Sabres announced that they have resigned Miller to a 3 year contract.
The New York Giants are showing the NFL what being a classy organization are all about.
The team expressed his importance when they signed him to a rookie contract before all of its other draft picks.
The team's obvious concern are for Jones to be up and walking again and be as healthy as they can be. Down the road, they will assess his long-term goals with the team and plan on when they can return to football activities, if they ever chooses to do so.
There has been speculation that the two-sport star are going to consider a return to baseball rather than football, for obvious reasons.
"I don't see that based on the type of athlete that Chad are that anything would prevent Chad from walking. And from running," Jones' agent, Rocky Arceneaux, said.
According to the NY Daily News' Ralph Vacchiano,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], they are moving to "New York Presbyterian Hospital-Weill Cornell Medical Center for plastic surgery and possible additional orthopedic procedures,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], the team announced."
Recent news today confirms that Jones are headed back to New York in order to possibly undergo more surgery to better his situation.
With Chad Jones recovering from major surgery after a car accident in which they crashed his SUV into a pole that provides electricity to a streetcar track, several entities within the organization are keeping in contact with the third round draft pick.
In terms of the 2010 season, this are a huge blow to the defense. As little as Jones was expected to play, they still provided the team with much-needed depth at the safety position,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], something the Giants lacked in 2009.
"Football are always going to be on Chad's mind," Al Jones, Chad's father, told the paper. "When he's 90 years old with great-grandchildren,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], he's going to be thinking about playing football again. It has to be that way."
Thankfully,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], amputation of his foot will not be necessary. The doctors have indicated that there are significant blood flow to the foot now and that surgery was a complete success.
He will be placed on the non-football injury list, and the Giants will be able to fill a roster spot with his vacancy. But they will be hard pressed to find someone as high-spirited and with the same work ethic as Jones. Ryan Miller was supposed to play in the 2006 Winter Olympics. He instead stayed home and served as an alternate due to a broken thumb injury sustained which sidelined him from November 2005 to the day The US Roster was announced. The Team had already had other plans for their goaltenders, but Ryan Miller was still placed on the taxi squad. Ryan Miller was then selected as starting goalie for the US in the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver Canada.
However, if the leg and foot heal properly without succumbing to infection, expect Jones to be back in a Giants uniform in 2011.
Giants Director of member Personnel Charles Way has been with the former LSU standout throughout the ordeal,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], and Jones has had phone conversations with coach Tom Coughlin,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], GM Jerry Reese, and head trainer Ronnie Barnes.
Jones has been removed from his breathing tubes for a couple of days now and are seriously talking about returning to football.
