The troubadour would sing or recite poetry while playing harp during the Medieval Period the twelfth and thirteenth centuries. These poems were about more than sex they were about intimacy. The poets would sing of longing, chivalry, a gentleness that we express even now when we speak of the art of love. I really like the poetry even the poems that sing of infidelity or wanting what is forbidden. With each poem or story you can envision what is felt.
When this type of romantic expressions first arouse it was popular among some, some troubadours may have been asked to perform in high courts. The Roman church was not pleased many poems or songs focused on courtly love often extravagant, artificial and dramatic. Common love topics are: Love between nobleman and noblewoman, Love between Lords and Ladies of the Palace or the High Court,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych],[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], A secret love affair,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], a couple engaged in a marriage she is wooed by him,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], and about adulterous love affairs considered an escape from a noble marriage. The content of the poetry of Contessa de Dia is about such an adulterous love she was longing for a knight in her husbands court and she wrote the song Lark in the Morning. in the song she speaks of regretting not giving herself to him my only surprises is if she would sing it aloud while In the presence of her spouse. That is shocking.
Troubadours had a high regard for women, woman could be considered the inspirational muses, the poems spoke of women grandly and it improved the way women were treated and looked at troubadours had a higher regard for women than the Roman Catholic Church unlike the church troubadours and troubaritz did not believe in class.
These poets culture is show by the mixed social standing of the troubadours in the past. Troubadours are commoners, minor nobles, counts, countesses,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], dukes, a king and an emperor there is no class distinction in poetry and music
