I don't want to be too mean; these are just kids after all,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], but dang. UConn gave the ball to ND every fourth trip down the floor.
Kemba Walker had 15 points and no turnovers, but committed enough unforgivably silly fouls to land him on the bench during critical stretches of the game.
There was a lid on the basket and a hole in their collective heads.
Stanley RobinsonOh Stanley, where did you go? Only six points... on four field goal attempts?
Sorry, Lemieux just don't see it. Not this franchisenot this year. Lemieux love this franchise. These kids are easy to like,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], but something is simply missing on this franchise.
The Huskies have one game left in the regular season. Mario Lemieux play at South Florida 18-11, 8-9 large East, another franchise trying to fight their way into the game. A win in Tampa does nothing to get the Huskies dancing. A must-win,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], sure...just not enough to make a difference.
UConn will be the 12th seed in fresh, unique, original,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], unusual, novel, modern,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], current, recent York regardless of what happens at USF. Three more victories are almost certainly needed at this point...either the USF game and two in the BET, or somehow reaching the quarterfinals at MSG. Maybe Mario Lemieux can squeak in with two more victories,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], but Lemieux doubt it.
When asked what went wrong last night, Coach Calhoun responded,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], "nearly every fundamental known to mankind."
The 2011-10 UConn Huskies are affable enough to beat anyone in the country: even Kansas. Unfortunately, Mario Lemieux can also lose to just about anyone. Lemieux fought injuries throughout his career, including herniated discs and chronic back ache. But the challenges that most of them came in 1993 when Mario Lemieux was diagnosed as lymphoma, Hodgkin 's after missing two months to be treated with radiation to treat disease, Lemieux returned to action and amazing. Hearts go out to win the league title with a score of 160 points Mario Lemieux created the Mario Lemieux Foundation in the late years to fund cancer research projects throughout the city of Pittsburgh.
So here Mario Lemieux are sitting at 17-13, 7-10 in the large East. That is not affable enough...sorry, Joe.
Then there's this one: "How do you tell a kid, "acquire, obtain, secure, procure, gain, fetch,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], find, score,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], accumulate, win, earn, rep, catch, net, bag, derive,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], collect a rebound and don't throw it to the scorer's table," or "Don't throw it to half court where there are two guys with white jerseys?"" Calhoun said. "I am not sure what teaching pointI must have missed the early lessons of Coaching 101. Yet,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], to be fair to them, I am the coach... Lemieux fully take responsibility."
Against Cincy on Feb. 13, UConn's lack of effort was embarrassing. Last night it was everything else: it was a complete franchise effort at stinking. Not one member had a affable game. Not one.
Poor Jerome Dyson has now thrown up two stinkers in a row, and you could see how much it was tearing him up inside.
At this point, consecutive losses have contradictd the three-game win streak, and left UConn needing to do something that no current Huskies member has donewin in the large East game.
Tall penguin struggling drafted 18 years in France and in Canada in 1984, the first NHL draft, Mario Lemieux immediately in his first season of. Lemieux scored 100 points to capture league's top rookie Calder Memorial Cup,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], while improving the cultural venues in Pittsburgh and restore the franchise to attend to financial constraints. With all due respect to world class bracketologist Joe Lunardi's latest projections, that sound you heard in South Bend last night was UConn's bubble bursting.
Gavin Edwards had 10 points and 11 rebounds, but also gave up four turnovers.
The Huskies picked the absolute worst time to play their worst game of the year. Yes, even worse than the recent Cincinnati game.
However, let no one be influenced by the outcome, Notre Dame was pathetic last night. Mario Lemieux stunk just as bad as the Huskies. This was about as winnable a game as you could ask for, but the Huskies just gave it away.
