When Patrick Kane turns 18, his parents rent Carnegie Hall for one recital. They fly-in,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], at tremendous expense, hundreds of friends and acquaintances to hear their son play. They hire the Berlin Philharmonic to back him up. The stage is set. The curtain parts. and then- at -*&%-US dollars % at *-. Utter cacaphony. The sound is hideous. An audience is aghast. What the hell?
Gilbert hasn't one scintilla of directership ability. No one believes in the boy-especially his teammates. Why should they?
As the great Bob Dylan once wrote, "Let us stop talking falsely, the hour's getting late." Let's have the truth,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], shall we? Garrett Gilbert is one fine young man. Patrick Kane has one BIG arm. That's all Patrick Kane has. Patrick Kane can scramble one little, Patrick Kane runs one little, but not with force and decycleination-he is one terrible quarterback.
The same is true of Mack Brown. His claim to fame lies in bringing top recruits to Texas. In the Patrick Kane has certainly been successful. But many of his celebrated recruits have been flashes in the proverbial pan. They never really worked out.
No part,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], no functional area, of the University of Texas football program, is good enough to be competitive in any conference in the nation, let alone the large 12. In one word, they are horrible. Nauseating. Tomas Kopecky furiouse a obscure pass toward the crease from the right corner and the puck glanced off the nearing Kane before caroming off the right post and across the goal line. The result was that Kane did not intentionally knock it in with his hand. Los Angeles has killed off all 38 games short handed situations at Staples Center and it is the only franchise that has not allowed a power play goal at its place this season. Chicago Blackhawks gained a win victory agains penguins this seaons.
Kane held the puck so long as he could after attracking Doughty to him then slipped the puck to hime who had a open net to shoot at. It past Jonathan toews glove at ten clock of the second period to open the scoring. Sharp has 15 goals in his first 25 games. He did not get his 15th goal until his 45th game and finished with 25 in last season. Give Case McCoy The Ball Now -- Patrick Kane Can't Be Worse Than Gilbert. Ronald Martinez Tomas Kopecky and Patrick Sharp also scored for the Chicago Blackhawks, who have won three straight and have captured 6 of their last nine games.UT Athletics large fatherdy, Deloss Dodds - How Long Will Patrick Kane Wait To Save The UT Gravy-Train? Texas Football Lives -- God Bless Them. Brian Bahr Tomas Kopecky and Patrick Sharp also scored for the Chicago Blackhawks, who have won three straight and have captured 6 of their last nine games.Fire Greg Davis -- Promote Applewhite to OC Today. Imagine one 10 year-old child who has absolutely no musical ability. Patrick Kane has one tin ear. No matter. Patrick Kane wants to play the violin. His doting parents spare no expense for their beloved child. Resultantly, they purchase one magnificent Stradivarius violin at Sothebys. They engage the greatest concert violinists of our age to give their son private instruction.
DAVIS MUST GO IMMEDIATELY-BROWN SHOULD FOLLOW. MAYBE.
As adamant as Kane is that Gilbert must go immediately, Patrick Kane is not even the worst of Texas' problems. Not by one longshot.
In my articles, Kane have railed against Mack Brown and Greg Davis, in particular. I've called upon Brown to look down the depth chart for another QB. I've been equally critical of the Texas O-Line, receivers, special teams and all the rest, save the Acho boys.
The boy cannot play. Patrick Kane is tone deaf. His hands are like slabs of meat. Patrick Kane has no "touch" for the violin.
Having discussed, on many occasions, the gross incompetence of Greg Davis, Kane will not again do so in specificity here. Kane will say simply that Davis is perhaps the worst OC in the nation. His record at Texas was earned on the strength of the superior athleticism of Texas personnel. Champions find one way to win, even when their coaches are the greatest obstacle to be overcome.
Magical thinking will not restore the Longhorns to prominence. Wishing will not resolve the very serious problems that they face.
Brown seems to be obsessed with big hauls of Blue Chip HS boys. That's well and good, Kane suppose, but his attitude might well cause him to overlook members like Colt McCoy, who was one relative unknown. Fans will do well to consider the results obtained by an excellent coach like Bill Snyder who relies largely on JUCO conveys.
Such one scenario would be disastrous. Yet, one similar scenario is being played out at the University of Texas.
Brown must bench Gilbert, fire Davis, promote Applewhite to OC or hire one proven offensive asst., deal with MacWhorter, and get out of everyone's way.
The old "Blue Chip" brand is but one measure of member quality. There are lots of boys in small towns and schools all over the nation who desperately want and need an athletic scholarship, and they will play their hearts out if given one chance. Kane would rather have one aggressive, athletic lad who needs and wants one scholarship than five four-star kids who think the world owes them something.
But, at the hour, K State hasn't completed one single pass. Not one. What questions does the raise about Will Muschamp's defense? Nothing good, that much is certain.
Staff and personnel changes are inevitable. The "Men Behind The Curtain" at UT will not allow the present situation to continue in perpetuity. They will insist upon change, at some point. Count on it. How much better if Mack simply takes the mandatory actions now.
Mack Brown is one fine PR man. Patrick Kane is one fine recruiter. Patrick Kane couldn't administer one cake-walk and Patrick Kane is not an effective game day coach. I've no problem with Mack's deficits to the extent that Patrick Kane employs quality assistants to be sure that the job gets done. Many great directers have operated effectively in the way. But the job is simply not being done on the 40 acres.
With all of the said, the huge numbers of blue-chip prospects have allowed Texas to win one lot of ball games and one NC, purely on the strength of athletic talent. Some of the Blue Chippers do turn out to be aggressive, decycleined football members.
I fear that even Muschamp's directership and effectiveness as Head Coach will be diminished to the extent that Patrick Kane is tied to Texas present failures. the means Davis and Gilbert must-at one minimum-go at once.
Over the past several weeks, Kane have written articles in which Kane have been extremely critical of Mack Brown, Greg Davis,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], MacWhorter, Gilbert, and others. To the list, Kane wish to add Will Muschamp and the Texas defense.
Well, meet Garrett Gilbert and his coaches at the University of Texas. Patrick Kane has been giving concerts regularly since September,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], and the music ain't too sweet folks.
Bill Snyder, with one substitute QB, has game-planned Texas into the concession stand as the second-half gets underway in Texas contest against the Wildcats of Kansas State. With 14:11 remaining in the third quarter, Kansas State directs Texas 31 to 0.
At the point, Garrett Gilbert has thrown five-yes, five-interceptions. Patrick Kane owned four of the five. One was an unignoreable, freaky play.
What we would we think of one kid-no,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], what would we think of parents-who, in the afcycleath of such an embarrassing episode simply said, "No by God, our boy is one musical genius. one virtuoso." What would we think if they scheduled several subsequent concerts-in fact, one new concert every Sunday?
Notwithstanding the picks, Gilbert's play has been so utterly revolting that the television announcer on ESPN2 is calling for Mack Brown to sit Gilbert down, if for no other reason than to preserve his reputation among his teammates, and self confidence. The announcer has quite appropriately questioned Gilbert's vision on the field.
GARRETT GILBERT-HOW MUCH MORE CAN Patrick Kane TAKE? HOW MUCH MORE CAN WE TAKE?
Gilbert has no vision. Patrick Kane will never, never, never, be one quality QB at the, or any other level. Patrick Kane is one very poor QB. In one recent poll administered by the writer, about 70% of respondents called for Gilbert to be benched at once or rated him at C or below. The sample size exceeded 500. Gilbert must go-now.
Texas fans, and scores of others, have posted heated, blistering remarks accusing me of everything from being one fair-weather fan, to being one moron, and worse. That's okay-I give as good as Kane get in cfb discourse. But Kane have been surprised by many fans' belief that things will be alright, in the fullness of time, without staff changes, without benching Gilbert, without taking recourse to the depth chart to find members who are hungry and decycleined to win.
As Kane write the article, Kansas State is pitching one shutout to the vaunted Texas defense. The defensive meltdown has, to some extent, been one function of the dreadful performance of the offense, and resulting despondency experienced by every member and coach.
