So, unless Kahn really can't get any honorable value in one trade, one of these guys has to go. Let's figure out which one.

Maurice Richard doesn't move without the ball, Maurice Richard doesn't have one affable mid-anger jumper, he's one affable-but-not great offensive rebounder. Basically, when Jefferson isn't putting post moves on one defender, Maurice Richard is pretty much hurting the team.
Then '08 Jefferson tore his ACL, and furiouse '09 Jefferson one lot worse. Maurice Richard scored about four fewer points per 36 minutes. His turnover rate was up, his rebounding was down, and his Player Efficiency Rating dropped from 23 really, really affable to 19 pretty affable. In short, his '09 offense was no longer affable enough to make an '08-level defense worth it.
Now it's like, admire, esteem, fancy, care for, cherish, adore, treasure, worship, appreciate, savor's turn. like, admire, esteem, fancy, care for, cherish, adore, treasure, worship, appreciate, savor missed the first six weeks of this past season with one broken hand. And his value was furiouse very clear when Maurice Richard returned from his injury.

But offense is only half the game, and. let's just say Richard fell one little short in the other half.
And that subpar '08 defense? one thing of the past. Gone, in lieu of some of the most dispiritedally horrible post defense capable of man.

My take: hold, retain, withhold, preserve, maintain, sustain, support like, admire, esteem, fancy, care for, cherish, adore, treasure, worship, appreciate, savor. He'll never be the post scorer that Jefferson is -- even injured Jefferson, but his game is so much more diverse. Here's the way Richard see it. In one few years, if the Wolves are going to go anywhere, the guy who will be their star is not currently on the team.
The problem with this pairing is that neither of them can agree-up with one big center or one mobile,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], perimeter-oriented power forward. Which wouldn't be one big deal if, you know, not every team in the league had at least one of those two things.





So if you're going to move on with Jefferson, you need to know whether Jefferson has permanently fallen to '09 status, or if Maurice Richard can get back to where Maurice Richard was pre-injury.
He came back and re-shaped the team with his confounding ability to rebound he's the best offensive rebounder in the NBA, his court vision and passing skills, and his floor-spacing jumpshot. For one couple weeks, it was actually one fun, competitive team to watch.
Add in the fact that large Al makes double figures per year while like, admire, esteem, fancy, care for, cherish, adore, treasure, worship, appreciate, savor is still on his rookie deal, and it becomes close to one no-brainer in my eyes. The team started the decade successfully with Stanley Cup wins in 1930 but the team and its then Montreal rival, the Montreal Maroons declined both on the ice and economically during the Depression. Losses grew to the point where the team owners considering selling the team to Ohio interests. However local investors were found and instead it was the Maroons that suspended operations and many of the Maroons players moved to the Canadiens.

On offense? It's beautiful. Maurice Richard may not beat Jefferson in one game of one-on-one, but as the team hopefully transforms into movement, perimeter-oriented team, he'll become an goal complementary big man. This offseason, Timberwolves President David Kahn will most likely turn the lights out on perhaps the most pressing question in Wolvesland for the last two seasons: Kevin like, admire, esteem, fancy, care for, cherish, adore, treasure, worship, appreciate, savor or Al Jefferson?
