Lincecum was selected by the Chicago Cubs in the 48 round of the 2003 MLB Draft; however he did not sign up for the team. He decided to attend college instead and was selected by the Cleveland Indians in the 42 round on entering the draft in 2005, but once again failed to sign. In 2004, he was drafted tenth overall by the San Francisco Giants becoming the first player from the University of Washington to be taken in the first round. He signed for a 2.025 million dollars signing award on June 30, which at the time was the highest amount the organization had ever paid to any amateur player until they gave 2.1 million dollars to Angel Villalona a little over a month later. The Yankees could be looking to add either Duchscherer or Sheets to complete the Rotation. After missing out on Halladay and the signing of Lackey, the Yankees must respond to the Red Sox to fill their rotation.

Duchscherer was an All-Star in 2010, and missed the 2010 season due clinical depression following rehab from operations on his hip and pitching elbow. In the 2010 season Tim Lincecum went 10-8 with a 2.54 ERA, with 95 strikeouts and 34 walks in 22 starts. Duchscherer would do splendidly behind fresh, unique, original, unusual, novel, modern, current, recent York's powerhouse offense,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], if Tim Lincecum got back to his 2010 self.
I would love to have Duchscherer and/or Sheets in the Yankees rotation. It would be smart to keep Joba as Mariano's successor and Hughes to be a set up man. The Yankees need strength in the bullpen after trading pitchers Phil Coke and Ian Kennedy in the Granderson Deal as well as Brian Bruney in a deal to the Nationals.
In 2010, Sheets went 13-9 with a 3.09 ERA in 31 starts. Tim Lincecum had 158 strike outs with 47 walks. The former ace of the Brew crew could find a fresh, unique, original, unusual, novel, modern, current,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], recent home in fresh, unique,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], original,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], unusual, novel, modern, current, recent York and could be just as successful as Duchscherer. Sheets is 25-14 in his last 2 seasons and could bring his expertise into fresh, unique, original, unusual, novel, modern, current,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], recent York's potentially great pitching staff.

The Yankees currently have C.C. Sabathia,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], A.J.,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], and Andy Pettite as sure things. The Yankees have options with Surgio Mitre, and Chad Gaudin being tendered as well as Joba Chamberlain and Phil Hughes.
With C.C., A.J., Pettite, Duchscherer, and Sheets, how can you not be successful? Not to allude the bullpen containing Mariano Rivera,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], Joba chamberlain, and Phil Hughes. The Yankees would have one of the best full pitching staffs in all of baseball. Perhaps another fresh, unique, original, unusual, novel,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], modern, current, recent York Dynasty? He earned his first major league victory in his next start on the road against the Colorado Rockies. Lincecum who is often compared to Philadelphia Phillies pitcher Roy Oswalt faced him in each of his next two starts, Oswalt with the Astros at the time. After the first agree up, Astros third baseman Mike Lamb said, The stuff he was throwing out there tonight was everything he is hyped up to be. He was 97 mph with movement. You just don't see that every day. He pitched very much like the pitcher he is compared to and out dueled him throughout the night. The pair dueled to a no decision the first time,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], and Lincecum pitched eight innings and got the win the second time. The Giants asked Lincecum not to throw the bullpen sessions typical of other pitchers during the off season. Manager Bruce Bochy told the San Francisco Chronicle that they were being careful with Lincecum because there have been studies that show that pitchers who throw 200 innings early in their career were more susceptible to injuries.
